REBRANDING A VENTURE STUDIO

CONTEXT
After deciding to raise a venture capital fund to invest in cutting-edge startups, the San Francisco-based creative studio where I worked needed to update its brand positioning across every single touch point.
COMPLEXITY
For this project, the client was my co-workers, including colleagues who had formerly led marketing at Apple, Nike, YouTube, RedBull, and Google. The firm’s brand needed to appeal to innovative startup founders, world-class creative talent, and institutional investors.
CREATIVE RESPONSE
Working with a diverse team of designers, I led market research, strategy sessions, and creative reviews that led to the repositioning of the firm as a purpose-driven “venture studio” -- a major accomplishment for a firm that had previously struggled to articulate its unique market positioning. To add intellectual depth and credibility to this bold but simple orientation, I organized thought leadership events, wrote op-eds, and built a robust pipeline high-impact investment opportunities.
